The Burford Tolsey Museum is situated in the Tolsey on Burford High Street. It was built in the early 1500’s as the market house where traders came to pay tolls for the use of market facilities, and where the Borough Court met.

The Museum opened in 1986 in the Baptist Schoolroom. The collection grew over the years and in 1995 it moved to its present location in the historic Victorian Co-op building. The Museum concentrates exclusively on local history.
